Genevieve Aucoin, MA, LACMH, NCC, MT-BC

Genevieve is a graduate of The University of Alabama and Immaculata University, holding Masters degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Music Therapy. She has worked with clients with diverse needs in a wide variety of settings. Genevieve practices as a mental health counselor based out of two community mental health practices. She also currently practices as a music therapist in a behavioral health setting, and sees private music therapy clients as well.
Genevieve's approach to therapy is at its heart very humanistic and existential, taking into account the wholeness of each person. She is passionate about helping clients to heal at the root, rather than just engaging in short-term "solutionizing." She has experience working with children and adults, individually and in groups, within a variety of settings including inpatient and outpatient behavioral health, mobile therapy, schools, hospice, grief & bereavement, community mental health, and medical settings.
Genevieve enjoys collaborating with her clients to co-create the therapy process, discovering what matters most to them, and empowering them to live out their values and priorities to the fullest. Her approach to therapy is existential at heart, but encompasses a variety of modalities and creative interventions, personalized to each client's needs.
Genevieve is also a certified Reiki Master/Teacher in the Usui Shiki Ryoho (Usui/Tibetan) tradition. She approaches her energy healing work with each client's highest and best in mind, tailoring treatment to each client's unique and individual needs.
She lives in Wilmington, DE with her husband and 3 cats. In her free time, Genevieve loves to read, create, spend time in nature, and perform in local community theatre productions.
